So I learned tonight that this protective violence report about a love triangle gone wrong has a “kinda close to home” circumstance to it. I “knew” the female involved. She and I ran in the same circles over 10 years ago and I haven’t seen her since 1998. I left that circle of people on less than desirable terms.
It seems the female had approached her ex-husband, indicating they were on good terms with one another, about issues with a recent ex-boyfriend with whom she was having some fairly serious problems with. It seems he was abusive during their relationship and wouldn’t let go after she ended it with him. The ex-husband (Allen) offered to help her out by “staying around” in case there was a problem. Good call.
Allen and his ex-wife told detectives that Franklin had threatened her in the past, police said.
According to police, the woman believed that Franklin had been watching her in recent weeks and had an active order of protection against him.
Obviously that little piece of paper didn’t do one single bit of good and didn’t keep Franklin away at all.
By the way, I happen to know her religion (at least what it was 14 years ago) was not of the Christian persuasion, and it involved a lot of candle use. She would have had numerous candles in her home. Glad Allen and her had all of those candles around and that they were successful in being as effective as that order of protection.
